This page describes how to delete your SnappShot account and the personal data associated with it. Three options — you choose which one fits how you want to leave. The full legal language lives in our Privacy Policy § 9; this page is the operator-friendly version.
If you only want to disconnect a single data source (for example, revoke SnappShot’s access to your Meta Ads account) without deleting your SnappShot account, see the "Disconnecting a single source" section near the bottom.
Three ways to delete
Option 1 — Pause indefinitely (not really delete)
If you’re leaving but might come back, this is the cleanest path. We stop pulling data, cancel any active paid subscription, and end your session. Everything you had — org memberships, dashboards, encrypted third-party credentials — stays exactly as it was. Sign back in any time and click Resume to pick up where you left off. This isn’t a deletion in the strict sense, but most "I’m done with this product" intents are actually pause intents in disguise.
Option 2 — Delete with a 30-day grace window
Standard "I’m probably done, but maybe not." When you confirm:
- Your stored third-party API credentials are purged immediately from our database.
- Scheduled data pulls stop.
- Your account is marked pending-deletion with a scheduled deletion date 30 days out.
- You receive a confirmation email with that date.
- Logging in during the 30-day window takes you to a one-click restore page. Restoring brings everything back except the credentials that were purged at deletion — you reconnect those.
- After 30 days the deletion is permanent: name, email, phone, and username are anonymized; tokens erased; organization memberships removed.
Option 3 — Delete immediately
For when you’re sure. Same effects as the post-30-day state above, but applied in a single transaction at the moment you confirm. No restore path. You receive one final confirmation email, then nothing else.
How to do it
Pick whichever method fits. All three lead to the same options screen:
- In-app: sign in → sidebar You → Account → Leave SnappShot. Choose Pause, Delete with grace, or Delete immediately. Confirm.
- By email: send a request from the email address on file to help@kobumura.com. Tell us which option you want. We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR / CCPA / CDPA, but in practice within a few business days.
- By post: Kobumura LLC, 2631 Housley Road #1212, Annapolis, MD 21401, United States. Include the email address on your account.
What gets deleted
Immediately, on every delete option
- Encrypted third-party API credentials for every source you connected (RevenueCat, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Twilio, OneSignal, Stripe, Mixpanel, Apple Search Ads, GitHub, your own database connection — all of it).
- Your active session.
- Scheduled data pulls.
After the 30-day grace (or immediately on Delete now)
- Your name, email address, phone number, and username — replaced with an anonymous identifier in our database.
- Password hash, remember-me tokens, password-reset tokens.
- Organization and app memberships.
- Any saved views, dashboard configurations, and custom metric definitions you created.
- Support tickets and feedback you submitted are anonymized to "Former user" rather than deleted, so organization administrators retain the operational record.
What stays
A small set of data is retained for legitimate reasons:
- Aggregated organization-level metrics that were already computed (for example, an app’s daily MRR for a period before your deletion). These are not linked to you specifically and removing them would corrupt dashboards for other members of the same organization.
- Tax / accounting records tied to past subscription payments. Required by law for typically 7 years.
- Application logs may contain incidental references (IP address, user-agent) until they roll off — usually within 30-90 days, definitely within a year.
How long it takes
- In-app delete-now: seconds. Done in a single transaction at the moment you confirm.
- In-app delete-with-grace: credentials and access purged immediately; identifying data anonymized 30 days later by an automated daily job.
- Email or postal request: we respond within 30 days as required by GDPR / CCPA / CDPA. Usually within 1-3 business days.
Disconnecting a single source (without deleting your account)
You don’t need to delete your whole SnappShot account just to revoke one connection. You have two options:
- From inside SnappShot: sign in → Settings → Data sources → click the source → Disconnect. We delete that source’s credentials immediately and stop pulling its data.
- From the third-party platform: some platforms (Meta, Google) let you revoke an app’s permissions directly from their app settings. When you do, the platform notifies us via a Data Deletion Callback. We purge the cached data we pulled from that source within 30 days of receiving the callback. Your SnappShot account itself is not affected; only that source disconnects.
Verification
For email and postal requests, we may need to verify you are who you say you are before deleting. We do this by matching information you provide to information we already hold — we don’t request additional sensitive information unless we genuinely cannot verify you any other way. Any extra verification information is deleted as soon as the verification completes.
If something goes wrong
If you request deletion and don’t see the expected outcome, or you have questions about anything on this page, email us at help@kobumura.com. If you believe we’ve mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — for EU/UK residents, your member-state DPA; for California residents, the California Privacy Protection Agency; and so on.
